Last winter I threw together a quick cranberry whipped feta dip when our grown-up children came over for the holidays, and it disappeared faster than anything else on the table. There’s just something about cool, creamy whipped feta meeting warm, tangy cranberries that feels cozy and celebratory. This version has my favorite combo: Greek yogurt for lightness, herbs for freshness, and a swirl of homemade cranberry sauce. And I beg you to try the hot honey, you will never go back 🙏!

What you’ll love about this recipe
The first thing I like is that everything is prepared from scratch, no gloppy store-bought sauce, or weird dips.
- Yummy: Creamy, savory-herby whipped feta cheese meets a bright, tart-sweet cranberry sauce, that flavor contrast is delightful.
- With Greek yogurt in the mix (and fresh herbs) you’re boosting the probiotic-friendly and your plant count.
- Quick to throw together (5 mins for the base, ~10 for the sauce) so it’s low-stress entertaining.
- Totally flexitarian-friendly (vegetarian with plant-rich topping options) and perfect for serving with crackers, crudités or sourdough.
- Looks festive – the bright cranberry red swirl, fresh thyme and chives, and the luscious hot honey drizzle will make an impact on your guests at the holiday tables or charcuterie boards.

How to make cranberry & whipped feta dip (step-by-step)
Time needed: 15 minutes
A creamy whipped feta base topped with a bright cranberry-orange sauce and a warming drizzle of hot honey. Simple to make, festive on the table, and perfect with crackers or sourdough.
- Make the whipped feta base:
Add feta, Greek yogurt, garlic, dried mint, dried oregano and 1 tbsp olive oil to a food processor. Blend until smooth and airy. Spoon into a serving bowl.

- Cook the cranberry sauce:
In a small pan, warm cranberries with a splash of water. Once they soften (about 5 minutes), add orange zest, orange juice, maple syrup, jam sugar and butter. Simmer gently until thickened, around 5 more minutes. Cool slightly.

- Assemble
Spoon the cranberry sauce over the whipped feta base – swirl for a marbled look or leave as generous spoonfuls.

- Finish with hot honey & Serve
Mix the hot honey ingredients and drizzle lightly over the top. Add chives or thyme and chopped pistachios if you like. Enjoy with sourdough, crackers or crunchy veggie sticks.

Pro Tips
- Use a block of full fat feta, not pre-crumbled – it blends more smoothly.
- Don’t skip the olive oil for that silky texture!
- Make the cranberry sauce a few days ahead & assemble on the day.
- To keep the crunch: sprinkle chopped pistachios or walnuts just before serving.
- Keep the whipped feta and the cranberry sauce separate and fill some vol-au-vent cases or top baguette slices.
Nutritional benefits
This dip brings together creamy dairy, gut-friendly yogurt cultures, and cranberries rich in fibre and polyphenols. The herbs and garlic add gentle prebiotic compounds that help nourish your gut microbes. Pair it with wholegrain crackers or veggie sticks and you’ve added a few more plants to the week. Easy swaps that still feed those friendly gut bacteria happy!
Servings
This recipe yields 6-8 portions, enough for a small gathering.
serving ideas

- Toasted brown sourdough – especially good with a little olive oil brushed on.
- Seeded crackers for extra crunch & fibre.
- Crudités: Veggie sticks like cucumber, peppers and carrots for a fresh, light scoop.
- Add it to a bigger cheese or charcuterie board with olives, toasted nuts and a pot of hummus – for the easy but elegant hosting.
- I like to keep the whipped feta and the cranberry sauce separate and fill some vol-au-vent cases or top baguette slices.
variations and substitutions
- This recipe is VEGETARIAN!
- VEGAN: use vegan feta and coconut yogurt and skip the butter.
- More savoury: skip the honey entirely and add extra herbs to the feta.
- Citrus vibes: add more orange zest, that’s another layer of flavor which I really love.
- Other toppings: top with toasted pumpkin seeds or a seed mix like Dukkah.
This cranberry whipped feta dip brings creamy, tangy and sweet-tart flavors together in the quickest and easiest bowl from scratch. Whether you’re hosting or just fancy something festive, it’s a dip that feels comforting and bright at the same time, with a little kick from the hot honey. Hope it finds a spot on your table this season – and I’d love to hear how you enjoy it.

recipe FAQ
Yes! Both elements can be made 1–2 days ahead. Assemble just before serving to get the best texture.
Definitely. The dip is delicious without it, but the drizzle adds warmth and contrast if you love a gentle spice.
Honey or agave both work, though I think maple syrup works best with the cranberries.
